GE washer leaks

When our washer is almost at the filled level it starts to leak water from under the machine. The vast majority of the water appears to drain to wherever its supposed to go, but on each fill cycle at a certain point it starts to leak water. We have vaccummed up about 2 gallons with the wet vac each time, so I know that not all of the water is leaking out. Its like it fills to a certain level, then hits a hole somewhere and everything above that level leaks out.

Is this something we can fix on our own? How difficult is it and what will I need to do the repair? i can’t afford a new washer or even a used one, so repairing it myself is critical.

Remove the front panel by pushing in the locking clip on each side between the top and front panels, using a putty knife.

Run the washer watching all parts inside to determine where it’s leaking from and post the results.
