If the washer is washing normally but not refilling for the rinse cycle, here are a few things to check:

  • Cold water supply – The rinse cycle typically uses cold water. Make sure the cold water faucet is fully open and the inlet hose screens are not clogged with sediment.

  • Water inlet valve – If the cold water supply is good, the inlet valve ( WH13X26535 Washer Water Inlet Valve | Genuine Ge OEM In Stock ) may not be opening during rinse.

  • Lid lock – The washer must detect that the lid is locked before it will proceed with certain functions, including filling.

  • Drain hose installation – If the drain hose is inserted too far into the standpipe, the washer may be siphoning water out as it tries to fill.

  • Control issue – Less commonly, the control board ( WH22X38441C Washer Main Control Board | Genuine Ge OEM In Stock ) may not be sending power to the inlet valve during the rinse cycle.

A few questions that will help narrow it down:

  1. Does the washer drain and spin normally before it gets to rinse?

  2. When it reaches the rinse cycle, do you hear any humming or buzzing from the water valve area?

  3. Are there any flashing lights or error codes showing?

With that information, we’ll be happy to help pinpoint the most likely cause.

Replaced control board

It does drain & spin before rinse and then it seems like it’s adding water and spinning & draining during rinse cycle then goes straight to final spin

Is this a new issue? Is it why you replaced the control Board?

Yes , it is the reason

Well any thoughts on it

So it adds water during the agitation for rinse? Or does it just go straight to spin and add water then? When it is in wash cycle does it fill normally? Just trying to clarify anddrill down to the issue.

It fills normally for wash cycle drains as it should than spins some during rinse cycle but doesn’t add water or agitate than goes to final spin

Sounds like a control issue. You said you put a new board in it for this exact issue, are you sure it’s the correct board? Does it fill on hot and cold on the wash cycle? It really seem to me by what you are describing that there is a problem with the control noard.

just put in the new control board you sent me yesterday

can you verify the part number is WH22X38441C

but it was doing the exact same thing before you changed the board?

Does the clear plastic hose behind the control panel attach to the board or to one of the switches?

that is the part # exactly that you sent

the hose attaches to the board

yes it was doing the same thing

Have you tried seeing if it will fill in wash with just cold?

Need to verify that the cold water valve is actually working

Yes that’s how I filled it

Cold water only most of the time

I am still researching this or you . It may be tomorrow before I get an answer back from my research though

These have a few service pointers about not spinning or agitating and doing other weird stuff, but nothing that mentions no rinse. Could be an issue with detergent build up in the pressure system. You may want to try cleaning out the system by running a cleaning cycle with a cup or 2 of white vinegar, I’d probably use the sanitize cycle or deep clean set to hot.
