Main Symptom: Giant cracks in the plastic disc under the agitator.
What happens & when: Today- loud crack and banging followed. All it was washing was a kids weighted blanket, which had been washed 3x in the past.
What is this part? Does the whole drum have to be replaced or the transmission?

Hello Saguaro, the hub on the spin basket has broken apart. It looks like the only way to get it would be as a part of the entire basket. GE WH45X26674 Washer Inner Wash Basket (Assembly) | Genuine OEM Part
Hey thank you for the response- Sorry if I did not specify clearly, this is for a laundry machine. The description for the part you posted said it is for a dish washer. Is it the same part?

The replacement is not necessarily difficult, it would just require the tub ring above the basket and the tub nut to be removed. The old basket and hub will lift out, and the new one set in.
