GE spark igniter replacement

I am contemplating replacing an errant spark igniter on my GE JGP336 gas range.

I have been unable to find an exploded view to determine if I can attack this problem from the top by ‘slowing’ pulling out the old electrode -or- will I have to flip the range and disassemble it to remove a holding clip.

Just trying to determine how I should approach it.

Regards,

It pulls up, use some pliers and wiggle as you pull upward.

FYI do not unscrew anything from the bottom, everything is done from the top. What is your cooktop doing?

Fixed it, thanks, though I did have to remove the top to reinstall the holding bracket.

My wife didn’t realize there was a slot for the ignitor, so when she “banged” it back into position, it physically broke something within the electrode.

This place is invaluable - thanks for the help.

Mine turned out to be a bad spark module.
