It sounds like the monitor switch is closing contacts before the primary switch opens its contacts. As they are on the same bracket, the primary switch sticking would likely be caused by micro arcs pitting the contacts. This usually occurs if electricity is flowing through a circuit and a contact is opened without the circuit being properly stopped. The optimal option when a door switch starts to fail is to replace all three. If not all three, at least the primary and the monitor switches.
