Ge Profile with light remaining on

We have a Ge Profile stove top with 5 burners with a crossover burner and a burner expander. The light that tells you a burner is on remains on. I have tried turning it off at the breaker just to see if that would stop it when the breaker was turned back on. No lusk.
Any helkp?

The complete model number of the stove might help others to help you.

Sorry Model number is JP960t0C1WW
I turned th ebreaker off last night hoping that it might reset but to no avail.
The light that indicates you have turned on the burner stays on but it is much dimmer than when you turn the burner on.
Thanks for any help.

Most likely the problem is a bad infinite switch for this burner. You have to remove the whole stove from the counter top and remove the glass panel to access the part.

  • The part number for the infinite switch is AP3873795

The issue I am having is not for the burner itself but for the general light that indicates that one or all five burners are on, It is very low in amount of light that it disperses. Do you still think it is the infinite switch that controls one single burner?

Thanks…

The indicator (aka a pilot) light operates by an infinite switch. When it’s “off” the circuit is open and there is no power to the indicator light. Probably this circuit on one of the switches is shorted. I would check for continuity between L1 & P and L2 & P terminals on all switches when they are in “off” position.
