GE Profile Microwave Stopped Beeping

Main Symptom: Stopped beeping
What happens & when: My microwave stopped beeping and I followed troubleshooting guide to reset volume to LOUD. It worked for a short while then again went silent. All other functions seem to be working correctly. If you stand real close to the microwave, you can sometimes pick up a very low, muffled beep, but you can’t hear it unless you’re standing right up next to it. The oven is only 3 years old.

Parts or tests already tried: I followed the Troubleshooting Guide steps to set the loudness level to LOUD

It’s now early October and for some reason the problem with the fading and ultimate silence of the beeper has now decided to work. It’s been at least a month and the beeper has returned and been working as designed since mid August. Do you have any idea why that may have self corrected?
