No power on the control panel of this electric dryer. The light comes on inside the dryer. Have checked fuse panel and have unplugged dryer for 5 minutes. Any help on troubleshooting would be appreciated.
When I put my dryer back together I had this issue. There are 5 things that can keep the dryer from powering up.
- there is a switch on the back of the drum motor.
- there is a thermal fuse in the blower housing.
- there is a thermal fuse in the heater housing.
These three are in series on one leg of the 240 volts. You should be able to follow the red wires in the bottom of the dryer and see 120 volts at each leg. - there is a temperature switch on the heater housing with black wires
- there is a switch on the belt tensioner, if the belt breaks the dryer will loose power.
Hope this helps.
I just repaired belt on this dryer and same thing happened. Replaced fuses, played with the automatic motor stop switch to no avail. At the very end I looked at where the screw behind the control knob goes, the first screw you take out to take off the top control panel. Where it comes out on the other side of the circuit board, there is a thin connection just a few millimeters from the top of the screw hole. When I initially put the screw back in I must have dug the screw threads into that connection. I just repaired this connection with some solder and the whole thing came back to life!!!
