I washed an old mop that fell apart in the washer and now it’s frozen. I called GE to ask how to release the agitator so I could clean our the debris and was told the appliance was of a type where only GE service personnel could fix it because it required a proprietary tool. Is that true? Does anyone have any experience with a similar problem? Thanks.
To remove the agitator, simply place a strap (belt) under it and yank upwards forcefully to pop it off.
