I have a GE Potscrubber dishwasher, model gsc800t01wh, that has developed a small leak around the connector between the pump and the tub. I imagine there is a seal in there because that is what stops the water from coming out. I need to remove the lower spray are but I honestly don’t know how. I have tried turning it but it will not turn in any direction. There are no screws inside the tub. I have removed the motor but still don’t see how to unscrew or remove the arm. Any help would be appreciated.
On a side note it does not leak unless it is running and has pulled water through the pump system. It does not leak if it is just filled with water. So I believe it is the rubber connecter that needs to be replaced.
Are you sure it does leak at the connector? Such leak is very unusual. More likely it’s leaking through the pump central seal which is very common for such GE dishwashers.
There are no seals in the connector. Just the clamp (#457 at the diagram). If this clamp is tight then it’s not suppose to leak. You may want to double check the pump body for a water marks.
You can find the low spray arm removal instructions in the Q&A sections by clicking on the part number bellow and scroll down to this section.
I am sure it is leaking where I described it. There is a water line coming from that area. I had removed the pump and replaced it when I couldn’t get the arm off. Everything is tight and there are no noticable areas that it might be leaking from other. I will take a look again when I get the arm off. Thanks for the help.
