GE Oven F0 Error

My GE Spectre electric range/oven started giving an error code which wouldn’t go away, so I ordered a new ERC control board. (GEH WB27T10216). After receiving it, noticed the original board had a ground wire going to a tab on the board, but there was no corresponding tab on the new board, though there were two indentations in the new board at the same location marked ground. I thought it was a defective board and called to get another. After receiving the replacement board, it also lacked a ground tab, and was told that if the two were the same, that must be the way they are designed, so I installed it leaving the old ground wire just hanging there.
For a couple hours, everything seemed to be working fine, then the range started beeping, displayed an F0 error and the keypad is non responsive. I tried unplugging the range and plugging it back in but the F0 error reappears.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Rick

Hi,

GE F0 Code = Stuck touch pad

Usually means that either the touch pad or the oven control (also called clock or ERC) is defective and needs to be replaced. If this fault code cannot be cancelled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC), touch pad, or both.

Thanks for the feedback, but I know what the error code means.

My question is whether the board should have a ground plug and if not, what could cause a brand new ERC board to show an F0 within minutes.

I have annother ERC board but I don’t want to install it if there could be another problem that needs to be fixed first or if in fact I received two defective boards.

Thanks,
Rick
