Main Symptom: New Impeller Base Not Installing
What happens & when: I ordered the new Ge WH43X32857 Washer Impeller Agitator Base OEM Part to replace the old one that was completely stripped and the video on the website shows it to be fairly easy to install but it will not fit or drop down to where it is supposed to go. After working on it for 45 mins I chatted with their online person and they confirmed the part and my model washing machine were compatible and suggested getting help to figure out how to get it to fit.
Check the shaft where the agitator sits and make sure that there is no build up on the splines and ensure that it would allow the plate to sit down on it.
Well, I’d already checked that but I did check again and went ahead and took a wet rag to it and it still isn’t wanting to drop down.
Check inside the splines of the agitator base that you received and make sure that the splines look the same as the ones on the shaft. If they are different then you may have received the wrong base.
