GE gtw465asn3ww agitator base disconnected

Brand: GE
Model Number: GTW465ASN3WW
Main Symptom: agitator base inner screw snapped and base comes off during wash.
What happens & when: During a few overloaded cycles the agitator base popped off the spline shaft. Still correctly turns when put back on. Ordered washing machine screw WH02X24374 as it had snapped in half. But new screw does not couple with anything. Is spline shaft also broken? Do i need to replace platform bearing retainer/fastener WH03X34937?

Hello, If I am understanding you correctly, the bolt that attaches the impeller to the shaft of the gearcase has broken. If the old part of the bolt is still in the shaft, it will have to be removed or replace the gearcase.

Correct, I removed the old bolt and ordered a replacement. Do I have to order part WH03X34937 or a new base WH43X34257? The bolt just spins and does not tighten down into anything.

If you removed all of the snapped-off bolt, the new bolt should catch in the shaft of the gearcase. It looks like there is still something in the shaft. There should be a hole with threads visible in the shaft

Og my gosh nevermind, it snapped off inside the shaft. Any tips on getting that out?

You can try a bolt remover kit, it is where you drill a hole in the center of the bolt, attach a bit into the hole and turn it until it comes out, we don’t sell them but you should be able to get one at a hardware store.

Perfect. Thanks so much!
