GE GDP645SYN2fs - Not drying, not Cleaning

Brand: GE
Model Number: GDP645SYN2fs
Main Symptom: Initially not cleaning as effectively, now not drying and not cleaning
What happens & when: About a month back I noticed dishes were not getting as clean as they used to. Loose food items that would just brush off after a cycle, were not coming off during the cycle. Within the last 2 weeks, dishes are still not clean, yet now are soaking wet after a cycle.

Error Code (if any): None
Parts or tests already tried: Few months back replaced Pressure Sensor Assembly due to error codes. Due to current issues, replaced the heating element (with non OEM as it is not available) and turbidity sensor.

I replaced the turbidity sensor thinking that was the issue, it does not seem to be.

I replaced heating element as the original had scale built up on it, I thought maybe that was an issue. Original measured 13 Ohms, new (non OEM) measured 20 Ohms.

I tried using a Finish Deep Clean, the one with the wax plug that is supposed to be used on longest/hottest cycle. The wax plug never melts away allowing the cleaner to work, this makes me think the water temp is not getting hot enough. I have confirmed incoming water supply is 150F, based on the sink next to dishwasher.

I can’t find any details on a thermistor, or other checks at this point.

Any help would be appreciated!!!

If you wake the dishwasher up by pressing the left most button, press and hold the left most button and the start button at the same time for 5 seconds, the dishwasher should enter into a fault mode. The LEDs should solidly illuminate for 10 seconds while the door is closed. Does the star button LED flash after that 10 seconds? If it does, how many times does it flash?

Thank you for that. After the 10 seconds, only lock controls light is on. 97 is displayed on the timer screen. Start light is not on.

This indicates the main control is not sensing the heating circuit. The heater wires would need to be tested for to verify there are no broken sections. If you test from the wires at connection J907 on the main control, you should get around the same reading as you did for the heating element. If it measures 0L, the wire harness has failed. If it tests good, the main control has failed. Here are links to each part page for reference.

Good news for others with this issue! While testing per above, I noticed a little breaker inline with the heating element harness. This breaker was attached to the bottom of the dishwasher tub. That was popped. I resent, ohms read good and now all is working again!!!

Any idea what would cause that to pop?

Thanks!

The thermostat can trip from overheating or overcurrent draw.
