Single Mom trying to save on expenses. I read the posts regarding the replacement of oven igniters. I have a GE XL44 Model: JGBP35GEP3WG.
I turned off the power to the range and removed the door, the oven pan, and the flame spreader. After this, I noticed the igniter was secured to the oven gas supply tube by two small screws. The location of these screws is in an awkward position-beneath the igniter and very close to a large metal bottom.
The pliers I used to remove the other screws wont work because of the closeness of the igniter to the large metal bottom.
I do not have a lot of tools. Can someone please tell me what kind of tool I can get to handle the removal of these small screws in this tight space. In addition to the tool I should purchase, any other ideas on the replacement of this igniter will be greatly appreciated.
