GE Front loader won't spin

Hello everyone,

I have a WBVH6240FWW, and of course, similar issues to everyone else’s problems, my washing machine decided to stop spinning. I have reset the control board, run through the self tests:

t01 - reset to #3
t02 - error code E54 only
t03 - cod 100, EE 13, inv 143
t04 - run through cycle 012, 123, 234, 345, 456, 567, 678, 789, 890 (all seemed to work)
t05 - displayed P and ran for about 1 min, then return to t05
t06 - ran to all levels and emptied, seemed fine
t07 - I did not perform
t08 - I did not perform
t09 - I did not peform
t10 - displays tt, does nothing, did not see any 120v reading at blue/red pins to inverter
t11 - shows 0, does nothing, no 120V at inverter
t12 - I did not perform
t13 - I did not perform
t14 - shows 0, does nothing, no 120V at inverter

I did check the motor resistance and shows 6 ohms across the three wire combinations, and sensor checks okay at 118 ohms. The only time I see 120V go to the red/blue input supply to the inverter is when I have the unit in normal run operation, start a wash cycle, the door will lock, unlock, lock, then the input to the inverter will slow ramp to about 112 V, then stop, then slow ramp again to about 112V, then stop, the drum will jerk slightly, and the unit will drain and stop working (flashing light on Start/Pause button).

I’m not sure if this leads to a bad inverter, or a bad control board output to the inverter. With a house of a wife and 3 daughters I need to make sure laundry can be done. Any help is appreciated!

Your findings strongly point to the control unit, but you will have to replace it to be certain.

I have the exact same symptoms and results from the diagnostic tests.
When I run the t10 test I don’t see any 120 across the blue/red wires in the junction box but there is a kinda grinding noise that appears to be coming from the drum but my guess is it could be the motor which is close to the drum. But this can’t be so if there is no 120 at the invertor -yes?

What could be causing the grinding noise then?

Please start a new thread, post your model number in the appropriate place and describe a little of the history of your machine along with your symptoms and the results you have in your electrical testing and someone should be able to help you.

Thanks

Ok so everything I have read about the GE front load washers says that the control board is a problem child. I have ordered a new control board for mine because I have a no spin code and spin cycle test fails. however I cant seem to find information on which code to use when programing my specific model# which is WCVH6400. Can any one help me out here??
