GE Electric Glass Cooktop removal

[COLOR=black][B]GE Electric Glass Cooktop Removal to replace lock-out switch.
I have new lock-out switch, but I’m not sure how the glass cooktop is removed from it’s metal box. All phillips head screws are removed from the sides of the metal box, under the glass cooktop. The glass isn’t loose. Do I use a thin puddy knife all the way around the bottom of the glass surface to loosen it from it’s metal box? Or do I need to remove the socket head screws, lower on the metal box sides?
The power is switched off, the complete cooktop is out of it’s cabinet, and I’m not sure whats next. Thanks for your help!

I have a different GE cooktop, but yours may also work the sameway. To remove the glass cooktop, I simply need to remove the screws on the burner bowl (2 per bowl). In my unit, the glass top is attached to the metal box just by these eight screws, romovabl from the top. Yours may be the same way. If so, very easy to remove the glass top.
