Brand: GE Model Number: GTD72EBPN0DG Main Symptom: No Symptoms yet What happens & when: A plastic piece from a hoodie string got caught in the heat deflector. When I tried to remove it from the hole, half of it fell behind the deflector. It’s now a rogue plastic piece that fell behind the drum. It would be best to open the dryer and remove the plastic piece from the dryer. To get into the unit, open the door and remove the 2 screws from the top of the door opening. Once these are removed, lift the main top and slip it to the side. Once you have the top off, there will be a screw holding the front panel in place on each side, remove these screws and then lift the front panel off. Once it is off and making sure that the power is removed from the unit, you would be able to see if you can locate the piece that fell out.
