Our 5 year old GE dryer sqeaks quite loudly at the start of a load and then quiets down as the load dries. When I take a load out infront of the clear door I will see clothes that are hung up on something near the light. often we will remove clothes to find holes in them (we believe from getting caught near the light and then being pulled out). Thoughts? Thank you.
I have seen this. The glides are probably worn out.The rear bearing is also in need of replacement. I have repair phots that feature new and old style breakdown of this dryer:

Got into this and found that the slides were destroyed…one slide had deteriortated so badly that the plastic that held the slide in place has been worn away to the point it appears that will need to be replaced as well. thank you for the pics and info, it really helped.
