Main Symptom: won’t start
What happens & when: GE Dryer (DPSE810EG4WT) doesn’t start. Other facts: (1) The timer display is illuminated – does this mean that the problem is NOT the interlock switch? (2) When I select a time and press start, the timer illuminates and the time decreases to “00”. (3) The motor does not hum. (4) The drum turns easily, maybe more easily than before – does this indicate that the belt might be broken?

Check the door switch, thermal fuses on the heater housing at the rear bulkhead. Check the power going to the dryer at the terminal block. lastly, the drive motor, especially if you hear it humming.

Thanks for these suggestions.

When we opened the dryer, the belt had broken. We nevertheless tested the switches and fuses and they were ok. We replaced the belt ant the dryer now works.
