Dishwasher pumps water in and never starts the washing cycle. It just pumps it right back out.
Here are your parts

For reference look at section 3 in the parts.
Remove the kick plate.
You will see a solenoid mounted on the left hand side of the pump assembly (Item 497). This is the wash/drain solenoid. It operates a flapper valve in the pump housing. This valve either directs the water up to the wash arms (solenoid plunger up) or out the drain (solenoid plunger down).
It sounds like the plunger is stuck in the down position.
This could be caused by a number of things, with luck the spring that pulls it back to the up position has just come off.
Move it up and then check that it can be moved down and it will return to the up position by itself.
If the springs are good and it will not return up you may have something jamming the flapper valve.
If it is difficult to move or stuck then the solenoid has probably overheated and melted the plastic in the solenoid. You will have to remove the solenoid and check it. If this is the problem then odds are that you will need a new solenoid and a new timer.
The reason is that the timer contacts that supply power to the solenoid are sticking closed and keeping the solenoid powered for too long.
The way it is supposed to work is. The timer supplies power to the solenoid for about 5 seconds at the start of a drain cycle. This pulls the solenoid down into the drain position. The water pressure then holds the flapper valve in the drain position till the machine is empty and then the springs pull the solenoid/flapper back to the wash position.
I cannot find the part on the parts list that I need.
I ended up finding it,thanks so very much wil be ordering and hope it fixes it.I looked underneath the dishwasher and this exact part is actually leaking and hopefully will fix the problem. Thanks so very much.
