The factory-installed trim/frame for my 2010 GE cooktop (Model PP989SNSS) has separated from the top. Product installation does not show this as a separate piece. Neither the trim nor the glasstop is damaged. The trim has popped off from one corner where it wasa stuck to the glass and needs to be glued back. The appliance is working fine.
The support person with GE Appliance recommended the I purchase Range Foam Tape (Part # WB02X26088) which I have. However the manual shows that being used on the underside of the cooktop and not to glue the trim to the glass on top of the cooktop.
It looks like its stuck with some double sided foam tape. Will any type of tape work or do you need heat resistant tape?
Has anyone had a similar experience and managed to glue the trim back? Please share any guidance you can provide. Thanks in advance for any help.
