GE Cafe Refrigerator not cooling properly/ice build up inside by vents

Over the weekend I noticed that my refrigerator GE Cafe CYE23TSDSS started building up ice inside by the vents and wasn’t cooling properly.

The freezer has no build up, but I think it’s not cooling much anymore..after doing some grocery shopping yesterday and putting meatballs in the freezer, they didn’t seem frozen the next day.

I checked the seals around the doors and everything seems fine. Had the refrigerator only about two years.

Started taking it apart to defrost everything, here are some pictures:

What could be the problem here?

So every two months the refrigerator keeps building up ice and I have to defrost it.
Why is that happening?

Maybe ice is blocking the vents which prevents proper air flow.

The frost is what’s causing it, but why is the frost building up?
