GE Café Dishwasher: How does one adjust the door height?

This post is a quintessential first-world problem…

Our new GE Café dishwasher has one very annoying problem: The bottom rack gets hung up on the door and derails when we pull it out because the door is raised just enough to impede the wheels.

There’s no mention of “door adjustment” in the owner’s manual. And it’s not obvious to us if it’s possible to adjust the height of the door.

We are having the same issue with ours.
Purchased ours from HD back in July.
We noticed this after a few washes.
Contacted GE directly and they have sent out Techs twice who both said there are no door adjustments.
When the bottom rack is is full of heavy dishes it bumps off track leaving the rack stuck inside.
I’m sure for us it’s to late to request a return from HD.
The problem was prior to purchase there weren’t any Cafe line dishwashers to look at.

We have the same issue. Not happy with any of the café appliances we purchased; they look good but poor quality. Do not buy cafe!

We also have the same problem. The dishes go everywhere when we try to roll the bottom rack out and it hits the lip of the door. For that much $$ this should roll out smoothly like much cheaper dishwashers do. Also bought the refrigerated drawers and it makes a loud whistling noise when the fan kicks in. The light also burnt out in both the drawers and the built in freezer. This all happened within the first 3 months of having the appliances. Makes us very concerned for the longevity and quality of the products.

I have this EXACT issue with my Café model CDT805P2N2S1.

After finding butt-kiss in the Service Manual concerning ‘door height adjustment’ I resorted to calling GE Appliance telephone support. The random tech de jour (and we all know what great gnostic experts they are…) offered their insider insight that the Café dishwasher doors are “designed that way”. They then speculated the design was intended to prevent the bottom drawer from sliding out of the dishwasher unexpectedly when fully loaded and possibly dump its contents. I call BS. Seems like a design flaw or design oversight to me.

Bottom line: This behavior is typical to the Café dishwasher and cannot be adjusted out.
