Main Symptom: New UI Control Unresponsive

I installed a new-in-box GE Appliances UI Control (p/n: WD21X28560) as a direct replacement for the original component (p/n: WD21X26002). The replacement control panel does not power on or respond to touch. I confirmed fitment of all harness connectors. The dishwasher has power. The WD21X28560 has no “personality” jumper block. The dishwasher works immediately when I swapped back in the original UI Control.

Hi lothian. mcadam It could be a compatibility issue with the new WD21X28560 UI board. If the dishwasher still has the original main control board, the older software may not communicate properly with the newer UI board.

It’s also possible the new UI board is just bad. Since the original board powers up and works when you plug it back in, the wiring and main control are most likely okay. If the new board doesn’t light up or respond at all, I’d suspect either a bad replacement board or a compatibility issue between the two boards.
