GE Adora decrease in Temp while baking

My GE Adora oven model 164D3871P001 has a problem when baking. When I set the temperature to let’s say 400 degrees (it happens at other temps too.) The oven comes up to temperature and beeps and then within 10 minutes is down to 350. Within 20 minutes, the temperature has decreased further. The display still reads 400 degrees. I realized this because my food was not cooking correctly and stopped the oven, reset it for 400 and it had to start again at a much lower temperature on the display to get up to 400. Is there something I can do to make sure it stays at the temperature where I set it?

Try to adjust the oven temperature as instructed in the Use and Care manual (page 15). Keep in mind that it is very important to preheat the oven for good results.

I did look at my manual, pg 15 and I am not sure that it is a thermostat problem. If I adjust the thermostat to a higher temperature, is that going to solve the problem of the temperature decreasing while baking? I know an oven usually cycles below and then above the set temperature to keep it at set temperature but this oven does not go back to set temperature or above to make up for the large decrease in temperature. With this in mind, would you still set the thermostat differently and if so, what would you set it to?

Thank you.

Are you sure it gets to the set temperature at the first cycle?

I do not have a separate thermometer so I cannot know if it came up to temperature. I am working with the display temperature and how the food is baking, roasting, etc. I noticed for example that I set the oven to 375 degrees. I preheated it and the display said it was at 375 and it beeped to tell me that. I put in the food and checked it in 10 minutes when it should have been done. It was not even close to done. I turned off the oven and turned it on again setting it at 375 degrees and the display read 335 degrees.

It did seem hotter when I first put the food in than it did 10 minutes later.

That’s why I did recommend to adjust the oven temperature.
