I have a 10+ year old GE 36" Downdraft Electric Cooktop with 4 Calrod Coil burners and 1 plate burner. Two of the coils work fine, two of them dont heat up at all, and the last one heats unevenly. I think the coils and/or the connector elements are the problem. Even if these cannot be fixed, the entire Calrod unit (two coils and the base) is a fully removable unit and comes off but GE tells us they dont make this model anymore. The downdraft fan and vent work great. I really dont want to replace the entire unit and spend $1500+ doing that especially if this is a fixable issue (seems like it). By the way, the model number is GE JP672 B9N1BC and serial number is HG743288C. Any chance you can help?
Thanks,
NM
The model number you posted does not come up. Verify and repost it. Also check for the model number of the cartridge (Calrod unit). It could be on the bottom.
Gene.
I have the same model and two of my burners do not work- the fixed one and the upper left
My faithful applieance guy told me the problem was in the controls and he could no longer get parts
Have you ahd any luck?
