GE 18 dishwasher drains while in wash cycle

Hi, My 18 inch dishwasher fills, washes but while in the wash cycle water graduall all drains out by the end of the wash cycle. HELP!

Are you sure it’s draining and not leaking through the pump under the dishwasher?

Where is the drain hose connected to? How high it goes?

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for General Electric GSS1800Z1 Dishwasher | AppliancePartsPros.com

Hi gene,
No no leaks, dry under dishwasher. can see the water seeping into the y at the sink drain. Dishwasher has been here since 2001. Just started this shit last month. No leaks though. With flashlight can see the water down the sink drain neck.

John,

I do not think there are any mechanical problems with your dishwasher. The drain hose must have at least 18" high loop if there is no air gap for the drain line on top of the sink.

Gene, The dishwasher worked fine for 8 years. There has been no change to drain install. dishwasher has not been moved. thanks for replying but there is definitely something we are missing. I dont know what checks the spray water from the drain inpeller area but its obviously leaking or something. thanks again, John[quote=Gene;314373]John,

John,

The motor in your dishwasher pump is reversible. The pump washes when the motor turns CCW and drains when it turns CW. The drain impeller will never push water in the drain direction if the motor turns CCW.

On an other side you can not know if something has been changed in drainage. You have nothing to loose if you’ll try to put the drain hose higher.
