Hello there,
I started smelling gas coming from the oven of the stove while the oven is off. The same thing happened about a year ago. I just turned the oven on for a couple of minutes and that was that. However, this time no such luck. I have the strong suspicion that the gas control valve has called it quits. Is that so or what else could be amiss with this puppy? Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!
A gas smell is never a good sign, I’d say you are on the correct path!
The control valve is Part Details - GE Control valve, part number: WB21T10001
A complete breakdown is not available.

Hello Nat,
Thank you! I looked at the schematic and could only see one valve responsible for for supplying gas to the oven. Am I right? Do you have
good place to order the valve from?
Thanks again for your help!
Click on the link I posted above t will take you to the valve. This is the cheapest place to order parts retail that I’ve found anywhere.

Ordered! That was easy. Thank you!!!
Hope that gets you going!!

Tank you, Nat! Installed the new valve and the smell is gone.
