This is the same as my other post, but I missed the C in the previous model number. Gas oven first indicated problems with a smell of gas before igniting, now does not ignite. However, the glow plug/ignitor still glows. Could this part be losing strength or going out? Or could it be something else?![]()
replace the glow plug. that is the problem. it is not strong enough to open the gas valve, and if it does, it opens it up a little, causing the gas smell and no ignition. tom
Thank you. I ordered a new ignitor, however, I was quite disappointed I could not do it through your service. My model number pulled up Maytag parts and ignitors were nowhere to be found. I even called your 877 phone number and the person was unable to help me. I will, however, keep you in mind in the future. The model, by the way, was a Hardwick gas oven. I am currently at work and don’t have the numbers handy, but you might want to get someone on being able to buy parts after things get figured out.
