Gas oven turns on and off 5+ times a minute

When I try to use the oven the flame cycles on and off over and over. It may take an hour before it gets up to temperature. I thought about changing the gas value. Does this seem logical? I am just curious as to what else could cause the problem as this part is about a quarter of the price of an inexpensive gas oven.:frowning:

The gas valve has nothing to do with such problem. Remove the control panel rear cover, locate the oven sensor plug at the control board, unplug it and measure the oven sensor resistance. It suppose to be about 1100 Ohms at the room temperature.

If the reading is wrong then remove the rear panel, unplug the sensor plug and check the sensor resistance there.

If the reading is wrong then replace the oven sensor.

Eliminate this plug and hardwire the oven sensor, using a high temperature porcelain wire nuts.

If the sensor resistance is correct then replace the control board (aka a clock).

If you need the correct part number for the clock, post the color of the touch pad.

I’ll gie that a try.
Thanks

I checked the Olms and it was 1100. I plan on ordering the circuit board but I thought I should give you some more info that may be important to analyzing my problem.
When I tap on the gas value it seems to make the gas flame larger. This is why I was thinking about replacing the value.
Also the broiler works fine.

You can check and adjust (if needed) the oven burner flame according to the Installation manual (page 9).

If it still too short then it could be a weak igniter or a bad gas valve. You have to measure the current drawn by the igniter (3.3 amps or more normally) to find out which part is bad.

After reading some other post that you answered and checking my gas flame I think you were right with your 1st diagnose of my problem. I would like to buy the clock for this unit. I have a white oven with white plastic trim around my clock. Can you give me the part number?

The part number for the clock with the white overlay is AP204807

Good luck.

I’ll post the outcome.
 Thanks for you help.
