Gas Cooktop

I have a Thermadore 4 burner cooktop which will click but not ignite on one of the burners. It is the one with the extra low on it. It is also the one my wife uses the most! I think I should replace the valve because it doesn’t seem to get gas to the burner. Is that what you think also. Thanks for your help.

Hi Jerry,

Most likely the problem is a bad potentiometer (#12 on the diagram). Thermador has redesigned them and made a potentiometer kit which includes two potentiometers, the simmer control and the installation instructions.

Gene,
I have the SGCS365RS and bought just the potentiometer part BSH189819 and installed it even though it looked a little different from the one that was on there. The burner worked, so I put the entire cooktop back together, turned on the power and now both XLOs are not working, but the other burners are. Do you think I installed the wrong part, but if so, why did it work for a few minutes. Now, there is no spark coming from either XLO burner and before all burners had sparks. Thanks for any advice.
