Gas cooktop spark electrode replacement

Brand: Jenn Air
Model Number: JGCP430WP01
Main Symptom: right front burner not lighting
What happens & when: I can use a lighter to get burner to work. So I think I need a new spark electrode part #W10833887. I would first like to swap out with another electrode that is working to be sure I have the correct part. However, I’m not sure how to remove the electrodes. Do I need to remove the entire top of the cooktop to get access?

When you turn any knob to the light position, all igniters should spark, (click). If you can see the FR burner sparking when you turn another knob, the switch harness is bad. If it does not spark regardless, the spark module is bad. You will need to remove the burners to get the top off to access the wires and spark module. Swap the wires around, not the igniter, they rarely fail. If the problem follows to another burner, the module is bad. It will be the module or the switch harness, the harness slips over the shaft of each valve stem.

Thank you for your response. I’ve removed the burners but I’m not sure what to do next. Each burner has 2 screws which I can remove but then what do I do next to get access to the wires?

There should be screws that go around the top area on the sides. You will need to pull the cooktop up out of the hole to see them. If you are lucky, the top may simply come off when you remove the screws that hold the burners in place. Fingers crossed!
