I have a Maytag washer that would not fill.I found a blown 1 amp fuse inside the cabinet .I replaced it and it solved the problem for about a week.then it blew again. The wiring diagram shows this fuse feeds the water level switch then the load size switch then the timer. can anyone suggest which part may be blowing this fuse? Thanks
Paul
I assume you have already done the obvious, looking for bare spots on wires that are touching a ground. Looking at the generic Maytag wiring diagrams I would say your two best bets are
- A short, which grounds the L1 wire coming from the power outlet into the timer
and
- The lid switch has a short or ground in it.
Of the two I would say the lid switch is the best suspect, and if you are unable to find it replacing the lid switch may be a low risk solution since the switch does not cost much.
Good luck, and let us now what you find.
