Frigidaire

[COLOR= ][FONT= ]I have 18 months old Frigidaire refrigerator (Model # LFTR1814LW). Its compressor is not turning on. No click no sound does not turn on. Lights and fan inside the refrigerator are working. And fan near compressor is also working. Can you please let me know what may be the problem?

Also if I need to replace something what is the best local (ZIP=63146) place to get the part?

Your model number is missing the last digit.
Here is the wiring diagram for an LW5.

Since the condenser fan is running the compressor is getting power as they are wired in parallel. Still would not be a bad idea to check if the start device is getting power just to be sure that it is not a wiring problem.
Problem could be the starter/overload or the compressor.
Since the compressor seems totally dead (no clicking) the overload may be open.

Here is how to check them.

I would check the compressor windings first.
Then the starter.

Complete Model # is LFTR1814LW0, I verified it is not wiring issue. I tried looking at the parts list, what may be the part for overload switch?

Can I change it by myself ?

It was working fine, I put lots of frozen vegetables that had blocked air coming in the Freezer, Can that cause any issue?

Can you please send me picture of overload and instructions/link to change it.

I appreciate your help.

Overload/ptc is Item 30 in Section 4 of the parts.

I cannot see why not.

No because the compressor fan is running so the compressor should also be running/.

Sorry I do not have a picture.
It should just pull off once the spring clip is removed.
Be sure to unplug the fridge

Thanks for your help. I took the start kit out, checked the capacitor. I checked voltage are coming on compressor connector. While I am waiting for the starter relay,Is there any way to verify if this relay is bad?

The wiring diagram does show a diagram of the start device (PTC) so you could do some resistance checks but the easiest and most reliable test is to just replace it. Hard to really test the PTC’s variable resistor.
