I have just found this web site ..I hope it works. my Frigidaire has stoped agitating ,Hope it`s not a nylon gear within the tranny? please help!:o
The first thing I would check is the lid lock/lid switch assembly. Here is the part if you need to replace it.
If it is ok you need to determine if the motor is getting power and turning during the agitation cycle. Take off the front and the belt and see what happens when you manually turn the transmission pulley. If it is jammed the transmission may be the problem. If it turns easily, start up the machine and see if the motor is operational with belt off and the machine in spin mode. If it is, then pull off the agitator and check that area for something jammed. Here is the service manual which will show you how to do all that.
