When I plug in the unit, nothing happens. No lights, no noise. The green light on the plug indicates I have power at the plug. I suspect a power surge may have damaged the control board. I have power up to the control board, but don’t know how to test the board. Dont’ really want to start replacing parts until I have a good idea as to what the problem is. Is there a way to test the control board? Should I go ahead and replace?
if the fan or the compressor either one won’t come on, then you can just about bet it is the board. those things go for anywhere from $40 to $200 bucks so trial an error is not an option. If it were me I would retrofit the unit with analog switches..(a three speed selector with fan and cooling, and a thermostat. assuming it has a three speed motor. this will work fine and total repair bill is under 30 bucks). If you need directions e-mail me at tony_pullen23@yahoo.com
I’d like to know how to do this, as well…I understand rotary switches and thermostats…I don’t understand computer boards. Just posted a thread about our “LG” 220 units. Will email you, if that’s OK.
