I recommend running the diagnostic test on your Frigidaire FAFW3001LW4 washer to help identify the source of the problem. The diagnostic mode checks the operation of individual components such as the water valves, door lock, drain pump, and spin function.
To Enter Diagnostic Mode:
Turn the cycle selector knob to the starting position of the cycle furthest to the left.
Press Start/Pause to save the selection.
Press Cancel to stop the cycle and turn off the LEDs.
Press Cancel again to turn the LEDs back on.
Within 5 seconds, press and hold Options and Start/Pause together until the LEDs begin chasing in sequence, then release the buttons.
Diagnostic Test Functions:
1 click clockwise: Hot water valve activates; water should enter through the detergent compartment.
2 clicks: Bleach valve activates; cold water should enter through the bleach compartment.
3 clicks: Bleach and wash valves activate; cold water should enter through the softener compartment.
4 clicks: Door lock releases and the door can be opened. The drum light should illuminate when the door is open.
5 clicks: Washer fills and tumbles. The boost heater (if equipped) will energize after tumbling begins.
6 clicks: Drain pump activates and the washer enters high spin.
Safety Warning: If power is removed during the high-spin test, the door can be opened. Do not place your hands inside the washer while the tub is rotating.
7 clicks: The control will display the last stored error code.
To Exit Diagnostic Mode:
Option A:
Unplug the washer for 5–8 seconds and reconnect power.
Option B:
Turn the cycle selector knob 2–3 clicks clockwise from the start position.
Press and hold Options and Start/Pause together for several seconds until the normal cycle LEDs appear.
If the washer remains stuck in diagnostic mode and the five LEDs on the right side stay illuminated regardless of knob position, disconnect power to reset the control.
I have also attached the technical data sheet for reference. Please let me know the results of the test, including any error codes displayed, and I will be happy to help interpret them.
