Frigidaire side by side not cooling may be defrost problem

Good Afternoon
I got a call at work, from the wife that the refrigerator was not cooling and all of the food was warm and melting. I went home to take a look, vacuumed out the condenser coil in the back and underneath, found no water in the tray to my surprise. I pulled the cover off the evaporator and found it iced solid, I set it up to drain so it would not ruin my floor and headed back to work. It looks like what I have read I have a defrosting problem. Would it be a safe bet to order a defrosting element and thermostat? Or should I go back home and take a look further and borrow an ohmmeter and figure it out exactly. Is there a common failure to these models that I could order safely?

Let me know, much appreciated
Thanks
Scot

Here is the tech sheet.

I would do more troubleshooting.

Force a defrost cycle, see the tech sheet.
Be careful that you do not burn your fingers.
Also note that the defrost thermostat must be frozen as it opens just above freezing killing power to the defrost heater.

If the heater comes on replace the defrost board.
If it does not come on. Check the heater resistance, should be around 30 ohms. Check the defrost thermostat, should be 0 ohms when frozen.
If both are OK I would replace the defrost board.

Note that if the defrost thermostat is deformed/bulged replace it even if it measures OK.
