Frigidaire icemaker issue

Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FG4H2272UF
Main Symptom: no ice
What happens & when: on the above referenced model number, the icemaker suddenly stopped producing ice. The icemaker itself seemed warm and I tried the evaporator fan in diagnostic mode and it wasn’t running. You could hear the motor humming, but the fan was not running. I purchased the part through appliancepartspros.com, installed it, and the evaporator fan doesn’t run still. There seems to be quite a bit of ice buildup behind the air handler behind the icemaker unit. I ran the defrost and the icemaker still seems warm with no ice being produced. The air handler gasket seems to be seated properly and doesn’t appear to be any air leaks coming from that area. I’m at a loss as to what to check next.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or information.

Thanks,

Kirk

There is a heater that is located in front of the evaporator and if the evaporator is icing up then you will want to check to make sure that that the heater is good. You can put the unit into service diagnostics and turn the heater on. If there is 120 Vac to the heater but it is not working then replace the heater and if there is not 120 vac to the heater then replace the main control board.
