I ordered the replacement cook surface replacement, but I am not able to figure out how to remove the old cook surface. I have reviewed videos on similar model and, but none have the controls in front of the unit. I have removed the screws on the futon and back, but it appears that the entire burner box and cook surface comes up as one unit and does not separate. Looking for the trick to make this work. Is it necessary to remove the control knobs first?I do appreciate any advise you can offer.

Hello, you will need to remove the front console. There will be screws in the front that will need to be removed.

I would take the knobs off. they should pull straight off
