Frigidaire Front Load Washer Won't Drain

my washer started making a loud noise when in the final cycle (drain/spin) i investigated by removing the front panel…the water pump is in the front right corner and it clearly was making an awful noise…if i touched it…the noise would quiet…i have removed it and checked for debris that might get caught in that area…i found seven quarters and a dime..woohoo…then put things back together…i still have the noise but not as badly but it won’t drain the clothes/tub. if i put it back on final spin again it would sometimes pull all the water out then spin but i am now stuck with a soggy load that won’t drain/spin.

i thought it was that the dials were stripped and not recognizing the mode it was in but i tried a different wash cycle and it didn’t drain there either.

i’m thinking i need a new water pump.

if the wash load is to0 heavy with water will it likely be unable to go into the final spin cycle?

i look forward to your feedback as i want to get the part ordered today if possible.

I’m having the same issue, although the pump is free. The hose leading to the pump seems to be full of debris, but not very easy to get to.

I’ve ordered a pump and will let you now if it solves the problem.

Those hose clamps are a bugger to get off but take your time and with a pair of pliers with a wide enough bite should do the trick.:slight_smile:

I did answer my own question about too much water in the tub…if I remove all the water with a cup and wring whatever water out of the clothes that I can then turn it to final spin…it will spin…so its not the timer or that the dial is stripped in anyway.
