The freezer on our fridge/freezer is cold but not freezer cold. The fridge is cold, but all the food in the freezer is defrosted. It still feels cold, just not cold enough. I tested the condenser and it runs. When the condenser comes on, I can feel air coming out of vents in freezer. It just isn’t cold enough.

Is this unit located inside the home or in a garage? Also, do the fans and the compressor run continuously or do they cycle off as would be expected?
It’s in the garage. Right now it’s cold outside so it doesn’t run a lot, but it does cycle
If the temperature that the refrigerator is exposed to is less than 50 degrees, it will cause this issue. This is usually fixed by installing a garage heater kit into the refrigerator. The fridge was doing this when it was still above 50. Why would it only affect the freezer and not the fridge? I will say the fridge feels really cold. I’ll put a thermometer in there to see the temps of both and get back to you
If the refrigerator is reaching its set temperature too quickly, it can definitely cause the freezer to run warmer than it should. This happens a lot during the winter months, because colder room temperatures make the fresh-food section satisfy the thermostat sooner, which cuts back on compressor run time. Less compressor run time means less cooling directed to the freezer.
Most models have an adjustable vent or slider in the freezer. If you set that vent to the coldest setting, it forces more of the available cold air into the freezer before the refrigerator side reaches its temperature and shuts the system off. Let me know what you find regarding the temperatures.
I checked the ambient temp in the garage with the temp in the freezer and fridge last night. Ambient was 46, freezer was 36, and fridge was 42. I put a hard freezer pack in it last night and it’s thawed now.
If you access the evaporator behind the freezer back panel, would you be able to provide a picture of what the evaporator looks like?
I just checked them temp again. The condenser was running and I tossed the thermometer in. The freeze pack is frozen and the temp is 22. I feel like when it runs it will freeze it but it doesn’t run often enough to keep it cold. So it will freeze, thaw, then freeze again
The garage heater kit should resolve that issue.

It will work. It can be used with any top-mount Frigidaire refrigerator that uses a mechanical thermostat and defrost timer.
