Frigidaire dryer shuts off (E68 code)

This is apparently a common issue with these units. The dryer would stop and beep, flashing the error code E68. I tried cleaning the lint out of the unit and around all of the contacts I could find as this was suggested as a possible fix. Didn’t solve it.

The code is for a stuck button. All of the buttons seemed to depress and release normally, but the Dryness setting wouldn’t change when the button was depressed. I ordered a new control panel from this site, and it got here in 2 days! It was much cheaper than Sears. I had to recover a couple of plastic bits from the old panel and swap them to the new panel, but really a breeze to fix.

I hope someone finds this when searching for a solution to their problem!

Thanks again to this site!!

You are welcome, thanks for the post.

I have the same problem with my dryer. Model #ATF7000FE1. Tried to get a replacement electronic control board, part #134556960 and was informed that this part was discontinued and part # 137007000 was a replacement. Unfortunately, while the part fits in the dryer panel, the wiring harness on the dryer is not compatible with the new replacement electronic control board. The Frigidaire dryer is only 2 years old. Need help.

Please start a new thread and someone should be able to help.

Thanks
