Frigidaire - Changing Dual Surface Switch

APP sent me the same switch and wiring diagram I had. Here are some more photos of the old switch from different angles to help with the diagnosis.

Thanks for your help.

Tim

Tim,

Are you sure there are no S1 and S2 terminals on the switch?

Gene.

There are only blank slits where the S1 and S2 tabs are marked.

Tim,

Give me a few hours (maybe till tomorrow) to find out what is going on.

Gene.

Tim,

Today is Friday and I forgot about it. So it can be till Monday.

Gene.

Thank you,
Tim

Hi Tim,

After a few more searches and phone conversation with the Frigidaire tech support I found that the manufacturer had redesigned the switch for the dual surface element for the cooktop with the model number FEC30S6HSA. The part number for this switch is 318078200 which is Appliance Parts Pros part number AP3775555.

Unfortunately this switch is much more expensive, but if you will go to the Appliance Parts Pros live chat and ask for Adam, he will help you.

Gene.

Does this switch have adequate instructions? It does not look anything like the current switch. I did not see any tabs to connect the wires to.

Tim

It comes with the installation instructions.

Gene.

I got the new switch in, everything works good, except the hot surface light is on all the time. The top is cool and all the switches are all off.

Any ideas.

Tim

Tim,

Can you post the installation instructions for this switch?

Gene.

Yes, but it will be Sat or Sunday before it can be done. Thanks for replying and your patience.
Tim

Hi John,

What is the complete model number of the range? Did the new switch come with the instructions?

Gene.

If that switch was supplied as Frigidaire kit # 903057-9010 it should have come with installation instructions by Frigidaire. Check with the supplier you purchased it from or with Frigidaire directly to see if they can email/fax you a copy.

=D~~~~~~

John,

The switch with the part number 5505-468 is universal switch made by Robertshaw and this switch most likely would not work on your range.

The part number for the dual switch kit made by Frigidaire as a replacement for this range is 903057-9010 which has been changed later to 318078200 and is Appliance Parts Pros part number AP3775555.
