My circulation pump is not working. When I move it around slightly, I can get it to kick on. When I let go, it shuts back off. I have taken it off of the dishwasher and cleaned it out really well and re-installed. I noticed that the front O ring is stretched out and very loose. If the pump doesn’t seal correctly, will it shut off or just leak?
Why would the pump work just fine when I push on it with my hand?
Hi, dkon.
It looks like you need to replace the motor assembly, it comes with both “O” rings. Make sure there is no foreign objects inside the circulation pump housing.

I have a similar problem and would also suggest two steps before replacing the pump. First one is it could be worn or loose motor brushes inside the motor ( which is def motor replacement, Most likely) but it could also be a bad connector, ie wire pulled out of the socket. Take a volt meter and test for voltage with the motor out of the unit by simply plugging into both ends with set at AC/ if you get current then it’s def a motor. ( kinda difficult if you don’t have it hooked up in a shop environment;) If you don’t, then it could also be a bad coupler where either it was put on originally at the factory poorly, or someone yanked on it and pulled a wire lose from the pinch connection.
