Fridge puddling water inside

My 13 year old Kenmore fridge/freezer has started leaking water and it is puddling water below the vegatable bins. I took the cover off the inside of the freezer and couldn’t locate a drain tube. Should I be looking for a drain tube or a drain hole and where would it be located? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Pull the refrigerator away from the wall, and go behind it. You will see a drain line, it will most likely be aluminum.pull the drain line out of piece # 315, and then blow through the drain tube to be sure it is not cloged. You might have to pull out # 315 to clean it. That is where the drain is. You can easily get with these directions. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Kayakcrzy,

Thanks a lot for the advice. I pulled part #315 off and it was really junked up. I’m sure that will do the trick. Thanks again for your expert advice. George

Glad to help George. Good Job.

What about this. i have been dealing with water draining into my fridge from the freezer for quite some time. We last week defrosted the unit for 5 hrs as the fridge was not cooling properly. i finally found where the coils were underneath and they were very caked up with dirt. the drain line is always frozen. so now the fridge cools great but it started leaking water again into the fridge.

five hours to defrost it is not long enough. Open the doors, and shut the box down for 24 hours. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

ok, i will do that, the drain line is not accessable from the back side. if there is a restriction in it how can i clean it ? compressed air. is there a seperate heater associated with the drain line ? i see one on the parts list. could this be the source of the drain water freezing on the drain pan in the freezer ? where does this heater mount ?

I sent you that info from my web site. Tom
