Main Symptom: freezer not cold
**What happens & when:**

It started with the freezer not able to freeze or make ice anymore. I realized the evaporator fins in back of freezer were filled with ice so I defrosted them and did the usual maintenance cleaning of compressor area also. Turned it back on and started blowing cold air into freezer but after 24 hours it still wasn’t cold enough in freezer. The fridge stayed cold so I pulled the back panel of inside of freezer to investigate and run tests. Ice build up again on fins, so I removed and tested the defrost thermostat in and out of a glass of ice water with no continuity on either. Figured that was the problem. Also tested the heater which had continuity so assume that is good. Put it back together enough so I could keep food in fridge and close the freezer until the part I was about to order came.
Plugged it back in and it ran for about 15 minutes but not nearly as cold and then it stopped running altogether. I figured it was in defrost mode so I waited close to 30-40 minutes and nothing ever came back on. I unplugged it for 10 minutes to try a hard reset but nothing. Lights work, plug works but fridge/freezer doesn’t at all anymore. Not sure what could be wrong now, any ideas before I start guessing and ordering parts.
