GE Arctica PSS26S GRD SS
I’m having a problem with my refigerator and freezer warming up. I have unplugged it and replugged it in. The temp would then go down but now its back up again. Current temp freezer 13 refrig 42. Help?
KTK. Please post serial#. Also check if the freezer fan is running, also is the center divider of the box hot to the touch, if it is, yake off the back access cover and veriify if the condensor fan is running, or if you have a very dirty condensor.
Hi,
I have the same issue. I have a GE (Ser# LD308303; Model# GTS22UBMBRCC). The freezer is very cold and warm in the frig.
I removed the back panel and yes there was ice all over the evp coil. After reading this post, I decided to replace the defrost heater and thermostat.
I had the frig on for 24 hours and the frig is still not cold. The evp coil has ice on it.
I can’t seem to locate the defrost timer also. Not sure if this model has a defrost timer.
Now, I’m starting to think that I have a bad board.
Can anyone confirm? Any help would be great.
Thanks all
This is an awesome board.
GLL
check evap & condenser fan ok,no air blockage but i do not have enough cold air coming out to the ref side . Is the evap fan a multi speed maybe it is on the low speed.thanks
Edgar,
What is the complete model number of the refrigerator?
Gene.
GLL,
Does the fan inside the freezer work properly?
Gene.
I have a GE Model# GTS22WCMARWW.
The freezer is freezing but the frig is not cold. I replaced the Evaporator Motor and it does not turn on. I had the mother board replaced about 4 years ago.
In such GE refrigerators when the evaporator fan goes bad it causing damage to the main control board. Both of these parts should be replaced together.

…for quick response!
I just placed an order for the board.
Johnnie
Is there anything I need to know when replacing it?
Not much. Keep us posted.
Gene.
So, I went into the parts diagram and there is no defrost timer for my GE refrigerator. now what?
Keith,
What is the complete model number of the refrigerator?
What is wrong?
Gene.
Gene,
GE model #GSS25UFMC-BB. The the refrigerator is too warm. There is no air coming thru the port window and some frost on the back of the freezer. The motor run continuously. I checked the parts diagram for a defrost timer and apparently it does not have one. Now what?
I have a Maytag MSD2756GE with a similar problem. However, I have not noticed any frost build up of any kind. I normally keep the refrigerator temp control in the middle. I noticed the fridge getting warm and set the control all the way up. This seems to be working for now. I’ve checked for air flow and can feel cool air coming in at the top.

Hi Gene,
My MayTag MSD2756DE refrigerator is getting warm, the freezer is working fine without any frost. I have visually inspect the evap fan behind the panel in the freezer, everything seems to be normal. No frost build up. All air vents are cleared as well. I have read your previous posting, look like it could be a bad damper control? If so what part do I need? Please advise.
Best Regards,
Frank
Keith,
Looks like there is a problem with the defrost in your fridge. You can find the complete troubleshooting instructions in one of our previous posts: http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/refrigerator-freezer-repair/4221-freezer-fine-refrigerator-too-warm-3.html

Hi Joe,
Remove the rear cover in the freezer and check the evaporator coil. Normally it should be completely covered in light snow.
Remove the back cover and clean the condenser coil. Make sure the fan next to the compressor is running.
Post the results.

Hi Frank,
What is the temperature in the freezer?
Did you feel cold air coming into the refrigerator?
Follow the instructions in the reply for Joe above. Post the results.

Gene,
The freezer works just fine(I mean everything is well frozen). Behind the freezer back panel. I found evaporator coil is indeed covered with light snow like you described. Evaporator fan is spinning and blowing air. I can feel some air coming into the refrigerator from the top, not sure if the air flow is strong enough though. There is no frost build up in the freezer. Condenser coil is cleaned as well. I tried defrost it two days ago (thought the frost might have blocked the air flow), did not help.

Gene,
The freezer is measured at 14 F while the refrigerator is at 48 F. I have done some search and suspect the damper door might not be wide open even
if I set it to 9.
