Freezer door very difficult to slide open-frost in tracks

It is often very difficult to slide open the freezer door, which is located on the botton in this model. She slides seem to get frosted and then they stick. We live in a very humid climate (United States Virgin Islands) so that might have something to do with this.

Someone suggested that I coat the slides with, Marine Jelly? or something like that. I guess some substance that would protect the slides from moisture/frost, and allow them to continue working.

What do you think, or do you have another suggestion.

Thank you for your help.

Wax will probably do the same thing.
You could try a crayon.

ok. sounds like a good idea. I might try that, although I was thinking that something more viscous might get into the grooves of the tracks more eaily. and more throughly.

My husband has actually hurt his back opening the freezer door! It sticks that badly.

I live where it is a tad colder.

We used to take a piece of wax and give the plastic face shields on snowmobile helmets a coating and then rub it out. This greatly reduced condensation\freeze up on the shields.

If it does not work try the marine jelly.
Only thing I do not know is what the viscosity of the jelly is at freezer temperatures (0 to 5 degrees F)
